Washington DC - November 05, 2014 - Jones Day welcomes leading dispute resolution lawyer Emerson Holmes to Global Disputes Practice in its Singapore Office
The global law firm Jones Day has announced that Emerson Holmes has joined its Singapore Office as a partner in the Firm's Global Disputes Practice. Mr. Holmes arrives from Nabarro LLP, where he was head of that firm¡¦s Singapore office and a member of its International Committee.
Mr. Holmes's practice focuses on dispute resolution arising from large scale construction projects, particularly in the infrastructure and power projects sectors, including railways, sport stadia, power stations, LNG plant facilities, petrochemical works, airports, reclamations, hotels, residential apartments, commercial buildings, and leisure facilities. He has worked on projects in Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, and he advises clients on FIDIC, NEC, IChemE, JCT, and ICE forms of contract disputes.

Mr. Holmes also has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediations, expert determinations, dispute boards, adjudications and international arbitrations (HKIAC, ICC, LCIA, SCC, SIAC, and UNCITRAL) as well as cases before the High Courts and Courts of Appeal of Australia, England, Hong Kong, Scotland, and Singapore.
"Emerson is an outstanding lawyer with experience in jurisdictions around the world, and his background as an advocate before both the High Courts and appellate courts, coupled with his experience as an arbitrator under the rules of the major Asian arbitral bodies, make him an excellent addition," said Tim Cullen, Jones Day's Global Disputes Practice Leader. Mr. Holmes earned his Master's degree from the University of Cambridge, and he attended the Inns of Court School of Law Bar Vocational Course.
